Three goats live on one side of a river, and on the other side is a lush meadow. To reach the grass, they must cross a bridge, but under the bridge lives a fierce troll.
The first little goat crosses the bridge first and tells the troll that a bigger goat is coming. The troll lets it pass.
The second middle goat uses the same excuse to cross the bridge.
Finally, the big goat arrives, and when the troll tries to eat it, the big goat uses its horns to knock the troll into the river. All three goats cross the bridge safely and graze on the meadow.
